I graduated, of all things, Comparative Literature and English. Funny, because I've almost never used my studies in a professional matter. Oh, yes, I've translated book or two and written a review or two. But the majority of my professional, journalist work was done in other areas—politics, environment, travel, music... For the last ten years or so, I've been an IT journalist and editor. That means I wrote about "information technologies" with all that implies: computers, programs, trends, and so on. I've won awards for my work. One for the best article, for an interview with science fiction writer and futurologist Bruce Sterling about—what else?—the future and technology, and one as the best ICT journalist of the year. Both awards mean a lot to me, by the way. It's great to be appreciated.

My work with hardware and software brought me in contact with photography. After the first infatuation with technology (New cameras! More megapixels! More frames per second! Less noise!) I realised that photography is really not about cameras. It's about the photograph and the photographer. So I decided to pay more attention to photography and less to gear. I started getting more and more involved which resulted in taking photos for the magazine where I worked. That led to professional assigments. I've covered events for corporate clients, I've covered product launches, I've covered rock concerts. At the same time, my personal interests led me to photograph places I've traveled to and things I've seen. You can see some of the results in the galleries. As to the rest, Highlight is my personal newsletter about photography and photo-industry, while Projekti is the repository of special projects I've been undertaking. I'm based in Zagreb, but Croatia being as big as it is, other parts are not a problem either.

Diplomirao sam, od svega mogućeg, komparativnu književnost i engleski. Smiješna stvar jer skoro nikad nisam koristio svoje studije u profesionalne svrhe. O, da, preveo sam knjigu-dvije i napisao pokoju recenziju. Medutim, najveći dio svog profesionalnog, novinarskog, rada obavio sam u drugim područjima—politika, okoliš, putovanja, muzika... Zadnjih desetak godina sam IT novinar i urednik.

Moj rad s hardverom i softverom doveo me u kontakt s fotografijom.
